In the past Optus had a retention team to reward long term and loyal customers. Over the past three years (as I recall from my requests) they removed the retention team. Like everyone else I was told that the plans are online, and you can change service provider if you wanted (not an incentive to retain customers).
I've been an Optus customer for the past 5 years and I have 4 services with them. One of my mobile phone contract has expired and I'm looking to upgrade to a new phone and plan. All sweet, NBN box install good, speed fine, home phone line switched over to optus on same number just fine,,,, then my Telstra email was switched off.
